Top Film & Television Apps on Android in Ghana: Q4 2022

During the fourth quarter of 2022, the top five Film & Television apps on the Android platform in Ghana showcased varied performance trends in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s an overview based on data from Sensor Tower:

Showmax 1.0 experienced a dynamic quarter. Weekly revenue began at around $167 and saw a notable increase towards the end of the quarter, peaking at approximately $412. Downloads peaked in the week of November 21 at about 25.4K, before tapering off to around 1.9K by the end of December. Meanwhile, active users fluctuated, peaking at 255.5K in mid-November and ending the quarter at approximately 166.9K.

Amazon Prime Video had a steady performance. Weekly revenue rose gradually from $44 at the start of the quarter to around $61 in the final week of December. Downloads saw a boost in early December, reaching about 1.9K, while active users peaked at 3.7K in the same period before declining to 1.9K by the end of the quarter.

iQIYI - Drama, Anime, Show showed consistent patterns in weekly downloads and active users. Revenue remained modest with a slight increase from $41 at the start to $44 by the end of the quarter. Downloads were stable, peaking at 308 in mid-November. Active users saw a peak of 2.3K in late November and ended the quarter at around 2.2K.

ﺷﺎﻫﺪ - Shahid had a relatively low but steady revenue stream, starting at $41 and ending at $37. Downloads were minimal throughout the quarter, with a slight uptick to 18 in the last week of December. Active users were sparse but noted a small presence of 21 in mid-November and 11 by the end of December.

Vidio: Sports, Movies, Series experienced modest growth. Revenue saw a peak of $70 in late November before tapering off. Downloads reached their highest at 129 in the same week. Active users peaked at 126 in late November and gradually decreased to 65 by the end of the quarter.
